Setting up your Gsuite on Oulook

If you prefer using Outlook for your email, follow these steps and you'll be up and running in no time.

We assume that you already have GSuite working, if you do not, follow these steps to set up GSuite or speak to Ben.


1: Configure your Google account to enable POP/IMAP access

  1. Open for the G Suite account you want to configure.
  2. Click icon in the top right corner, just below your profile picture. Select Settings from the drop-down.
  3. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. Click on Enable IMAP, then click on Save Changes.


2: Configure Outlook

  1. If you are opening Outlook for the first time, Add Account Setup will automatically pop out. Or you can manually select to add a new account.
  2. Choose manual setup mode and click Next. In the next step select POP or IMAP option.
  3. Enter your name and email address. Enter your email address as your login username and your GSuite password in the password field. Now under server configuration, change the account type to IMAP.
  4. In the Incoming Mail Server settings, enter and in Outgoing Mail Server enter
  5. Click on More Settings and go to Outgoing Server tab. Check the checkbox and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  6. Go to the Advanced tab, and exactly enter the details as follows:
    1. Incoming Server (IMAP) Port: 993
    2. Incoming encryption type: SSL
    3. Outgoing Server (SMTP) Port: 587
    4. Outgoing Encryption type: TLS
    5. Server Time Out: 5 Minutes(Recommended)
  7. Save the settings.
  8. Outlook will test your server settings and prompt you if anything goes wrong.
  9. If everything goes right, you will see a successful message and the emails would start downloading.
